PREFACE

 

The past ten years has witnessed a major development in new fabrics, utilizing the latest and advanced technology, and this is attracting more and more designers, who are rethinking the way designs work on the body and how fabric appears on the body structure. They are also experimenting with the way fabric can be cut and created to take advantage of new fabrics and fabric experiments. The process of discovering new material for fashion design is pushing the entire fashion industry forward.

THE UNITY OF OPPOSITES

Marxist philosophy holds that the law of the unity of opposites is the fundamental law of the universe. This law operates universally, whether in the natural world, in human society, or in man's thinking.

 

Between the opposites in a contradiction there is at once unity and struggle, and it is this that impels things to move and change.(‘On the Correct Handling of Contradictions Among the People, p. 95)

 

This collection indicated that there is a great value in the conflict and opposite words, such as Exquisites - Simplicity, Details - Silhouette, Technology - Handicraft, etc.

This collection is attempting to recall women's selfprotective awareness via amplifying the invisible details to the tangible textures.

THE TEXTURED MISTRESS

This design practice is attempting to transform 2D fabric into 3D model with different materials and explore the possibilities of combining non-wearable material with fabric in fashion.

 

It also paved the way for the Fashion Sustainability and Constumers-involved design concepts in my further works.
